Near-term Market Forecast: The market environment is modestly favorable for appreciation of these stocks in the weeks ahead.
After a bullish sign from the market a couple weeks ago, the major averages have held up well despite new news that could have clearly been interpreted as negative. This is a good sign. Still, estimates continue to gradually fall over the past few months and we are still looking at an earnings recession in 2019 overall. The VIX volatility index continues to be subdued near 15 while the ten-year treasury yield has retraced more than half the move off the recent low and closed near 1.7%. The small cap Russell 2000 is pulling back gradually in a good flag formation just below the top of its 8 month trading range. The market handled some bad news on trade well late last week which is a good sign. However, we are still heading int October and an uncertain earnings season in the weeks ahead. The strategy is calling for holding positions in the 3 stocks below until the next update:
This Weeks Stocks:
This week we have the same 3 stocks. So, to follow the system, you would do nothing. If you are just starting, you would buy an equal dollar amount of all 3 stocks when the market re-opens in your risk-capital account dedicated to this system. Be sure to view the complete introductory video before getting started.
Stock #1 – LULU
Optional Protective Stop-loss Point: $159.90 (Be aware that a tighter stop-loss will likely severely reduce performance over the long-term based on back-testing for this strategy. See upgrade and performance video for further information and insight on optional stop-loss orders.)
Stock #2 – CMG
Optional Protective Stop-loss Point: $634.90
Stock #3 – PFSI
Optional Protective Stop-loss Point: $24.70
It was a good week for the strategy with all 3 stocks making gains or about flat with CMG leading the way with about a 5.5% gain. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 was down a big and the Nasdaq off about 1%. Overall, the portfolio was up about 2% for those using the instructions in the getting started video.
